Equipment:
- Paddle brush
- Tail comb
- Hair band
- Grips and pins
Step by steps:
- I tied the hair up into a high ponytail after brushing it through and secured the ponytail with a hairband
- I then split the ponytail into four sections and backcombed each section to the root
- I then took each section and curled it round into a loop and secured with grips and pins
- Once all the sections had been pinned into place I spread the hair around evenly to get rid of gaps and make it appear as if there is a doughnut underneath
I didn't have time to do the bun in class as I spent the whole lesson practising plaiting so I did it at home in my free time.
Here are some pictures of buns that I have found on the internet that look like they are influenced by Elizabethan hair styling and also some portraits which show women of the time wearing their hair with a bun at the back.
